Educational Objectives of FMT TAMC

At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of a systematic approach to mobility, motor control
and stability for the tactical athlete
  • Discuss movement screening techniques to identify faulty motor patterns
  • Discuss the physiological effects of kinesiology taping
  • Demonstrate functional taping and understand its role and use for the applications of rehabilitation, edema management, injury recovery and posture and dynamic movement management with the tactical athlete
  • Demonstrate and discuss the concept myofascial manipulation using foam rollers compressional band therapy
  • Demonstrate and discuss the use of elastic therapeutic bands as a mobility and stability tool

Our goal is providing United States Military Medics and Corpsman with tools to treat and/or mitigate common injuries with evidence-based, field-applicable and practical practices.

FMT TACTICAL ATHLETE PERFORMANCE (TAP) COURSE is for tactical athletes that want to learn self-management skills for common musculo-skeletal issues. This course introduces movement and performance enhancement strategies to create a simple and effective selfcare program for the tactical athlete by better preparing them to train effectively by reducing soreness, improving range of motion and enhancing joint centration, as well as assisting the tactical athlete to recover and reload between sessions.  By enhancing preparation and recovery, athletes will increase their ability to train effectively, efficiently, and consistently over time, resulting in a more robust, physically fit, resilient and ready fighting force.

Discover why using kinesiology tape and compressional floss bands are integral for improving mobility, stability, soreness and recovery to equip the tactical athlete to train stronger and longer.  This course takes a simple joint by joint approach to movement and performance enhancement to assist the tactical athlete with their own self-care. This training program can be performed in a matter of a few minutes with simple tools that can be taken anywhere in the world that the tactical athlete finds themselves.

The primary goal of this course is to help performance coaches, medics, and tactical athletes improve the movement abilities and capacity of service men and women both during and between training sessions through self-care.

The primary goal of this course is to help Department of Defense Medics, Physician Assistants, ATCs, PTs, OTs and tactical athletes (Service members, First Responders) identify and address common MSK injuries to act as a force multiplier in the attempt to improve force readiness.

This course is intended for DoD and First Responder athletes and associated health/wellness team members with all levels of experience of rehabilitation programming and taping. The cost of this course includes compression floss-band and a roll of kinesiology tape.

All supplies needed for the course are provided Functional Movement Training (FMT) courses are led by industry leading experts in movement assessment and therapy.

Educational Objectives of FMT TAP

At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of a systematic approach to mobility, motor control and stability for the tactical athlete.
  • Discuss the physiological effects of kinesiology taping.

FMT Veteran Athlete Medical (VAM) Course is for Medical Professionals that take care of Veteran Soldiers who are no longer on Active Duty.

This course introduces the concept of kinesiology taping for acute/chronic soft tissue management and care for the Veteran Athlete. It includes a review of the current literature supporting the theory of kinesiology taping for the purposes of pain (discomfort) management and postural management. This program is an evidence-informed kinesiology taping course that redefines our understanding of the effects of elastic therapeutic taping on discomfort mitigation, fluid control (acute/chronic inflammation) and proprioception (static/dynamic movement control via taping). It lays the groundwork for a practical framework of ‘taping movement, not muscles’ to replace an outdated model focused on directional taping to activate or inhibit muscles.

This course is intended for physical/occupational therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, and other associated medical professionals with all levels of experience with taping.

All supplies needed for the course are provided Functional Movement Training (FMT) courses are taught by industry leading experts in movement assessment, performance and rehabilitation.

Educational Objectives of FMT VAM

At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Define and discuss the physiological effects of kinesiology taping
  • Communicate common functional taping techniques as they apply to ‘early intervention of non-reportable’ pain/discomfort management and work-related posture control.
  • Introduce, define and show common taping applications for work related soft tissue complaints and environments.
  • Demonstrate, via application, functional taping techniques that are specifically designed to influence discomfort*, edema, and posture.
  • Demonstrate and discuss how the fascial system functions, and how kinesiology tape interfaces with the mechanical, chemical and neurosensory sub-systems of fascia.
  • Understand and differentiate fluid dynamics taping applications for acute edema and chronic fluid dysfunction conditions using the jellyfish taping method.
  • Discover and experiment with various tape application techniques for common musculo-skeletal injury conditions (spine and extremities conditions in work-related environments)
  • Demonstrate and apply posture taping applications for correction of common chronic postural deficits of the upper and lower spine regions.

Our goal is to provide Medical Professionals the tools to treat and/or mitigate common injuries in the Veteran Soldier population with evidence-based, field-applicable and practical practices.
