Rocktape, the leader in high performance athletic tape for active people everywhere, today announced that Rocktape has been used extensively by Peanut Butter & Co. TWENTY12 riders in their 2010 campaign.
The team has been consistently on the podium over the last 3 months. Starting with the Tour of New Zealand, Shelley Evans took 4 stage wins and clinched the overall victory.
Soon after, the team assembled at Sea Otter where Katherine Carroll took home a strong 2nd place finish in the Circuit race and rising star Coryn Rivera took 5th. Olivia Dillon, Irish National Champion, grabbed 1st place in the Santa Cruz criterium later that week.
Seven team members then raced in the SRAM Tour of Gila where Shelley Evans took 1st in the Crit and Mara Abbott took the overall win in the GC in this prestigious and highly contested race.
Continuing their blitzkrieg, the gals split up to conquer the world: Evans went to Mexico where she brought home a Gold and Silver in the Pan Am Games, while Rivera won the Tour of California crit in Sacramento on junior gears.
“We are so proud to support this team,” said Greg van den Dries, Rocktape’s CEO. “Nicola Cranmer, Kristin Armstrong and entire team are on top of the world right now. In my opinion they are simply executing incredibly well and we couldn’t be happier for them.”
Rocktape works closely with the the team to help improve its products. “Olivia Dillon was suffering from shin splints at Sea Otter,” said Dr. Steve Capobianco, Rocktape’s Medical Director. “We developed a very effective method of treatment that was tailored specifically to her needs. These riders are like a rolling performance lab that allows us to test and re-test various aspects of our products. We love working with them and the team’s medical staff to continually develop new products and techniques that can help all athletes.”
More than twenty sponsors help power the team. “Our sponsors are critical to what we do,” said Nicola Cranmer, General Manager and founder of the team. “Our friends at Rocktape help keep our riders fresh and healthy, and when your team competes in over 50 races per year across the globe, it’s critical to us to have the best products and companies supporting us. Rocktape is one of the products that we don’t leave home without it.”
Next up for the team will be several summer races including Tulsa Tough, Philadelphia Classic and the Nature Valley Grand Prix.
