The science of kinesiology tape has evolved over the past 15 years with researchers now asking more appropriate questions when conducting their scientific experiments. No longer are we asking about turning on or off a particular muscle (spoiler alert, it doesn’t do that) or if it can make them stronger (also not true). The goal of taping should be to ASSIST the person to move more effectively and efficiently by the mechanisms highlighted in the image attached here.
